The establishment of U Medvidku dates as far back as 1466. The former brewery, where Prague's first cabaret was once housed, was rebuilt into one of Prague's largest beerhouses in the last century. Generations of Prague's citizens and foreign tourists visit the beerhouse thanks to the renowned Czech cuisine and excellent Budvar beer. A folk band plays regularly for dancing and listening.

Capacity: The beerhouse has 180 seats, the Budvar beer bar seats 45. The garden has 50 seats and the parlour has 35.

During the reconstruction of the restaurant a pension (guest house) was built in the historic premises with 22 rooms (SAT, TV, safe, telephone) which has earned a 3 star (***) rating. The pension is exceptional thanks to the preserved Gothic rafters and Renaissance painted ceilings.
